Winward Law, PLLC
Every Client Matters
LaMar J Winward has worked in the legal field in Southern Utah for over 38 years. He moved to St. George in the summer of 1981, following his graduation from law school in Provo, Utah. He began his legal career working for the firm of Snow and Nuffer. In 1987 he became a sole practitioner and continued in sole practice until 2008 when his son, Jay T. Winward, came to work with him. Jay has since gone to work for the US Attorneys office and LaMar continues to work for the law firm.
LaMar has considered himself a general practitioner of law and he has handled a wide variety of cases on the local, state, federal and international level. His practice has developed with a broad base in family related issues, including divorce, annulment, protective orders, support, child custody, etc, and a broad base in the criminal law, including DUI, drugs, and crimes against people.
LaMar understands that many of his clients facing such legal issues come to him at perhaps the hardest times in their lives. They come seeking legal advice, but also want assurance that their position is sound. Clients want assurance that they have a strong advocate when oft times they may feel their attorney is their only advocate.
LaMar is adept at listening to his clients' concerns and relating sound legal advice. He feels it is important to be realistic with expectations with what the law will support. He will quickly inform his clients if their expectations are legally viable and will not agree to take a case just to gain billable hours. He is a trusted advocate in the southern Utah legal system for that reason among many others.
LaMar uses his spare time to support his community. He has been involved with little league softball, Boy Scouts, and several nonprofit organizations. LaMar believes that when good adults rub shoulders with young people, it benefits everyone involved. It gives our youth a greater chance at success in life to know they are supported. It gives the adults involved a way to shape the future and their legacy.
LaMar is married to Jenifer Elizabeth Winward. He has four children that have been raised or is being raised in St. George. He and his wife love being in the outdoors and running local races.
